about us

Chaitanya Jyeshtha Nagarik Sahniwas for Senior Citizens is located at village Jambhulpada, taluka Sudhagad, Dist. Raigad. Jambhulpada is a small village on the banks of river Amba. It is equi-distant from Mumbai and Pune, approx. 100-110 km).

Who We are

Our objective is to provide a stress-free & peaceful life to senior citizens amidst beautiful surroundings.
There are 15 rooms for the residents in 7 cottages. So, on twin sharing basis 30 residents can be accommodated. There are other rooms for amenities such as library, medical room, dining room (with attached kitchen), recreation room which has a common T.V. and tables for playing chess, cards, carom etc.
Senior citizens who are physically independent i.e. they do not need assistance for their daily activity are given admission after they are screened and interviewed by the Trustees. The home was started on 15th April, 2012 with 2 residents. Today, about 21 "permanent" residents and about 5 temporary residents (on monthly basis) are staying here.
Chaitanya is conducted by Mathura Foundation, a public charitable trust registered with the Charity Commissioner's office, Mumbai. Donations to Mathura Foundation are exempt under section-80G of the Income-Tax act.
In order to provide service to the residents, we have a care taker and 2 resident staff members, who are on the premises 24x7. There are other staffs who come from the village.
We have a tie up with Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital which is located at Rasayani (approx. 35 km from Chaitanya). A team of two doctors, one M.D. (Physician) and another M.S. (Ortho) visit Chaitanya Jyeshtha Nagarik Sahniwas once a month to examine the residents.
Foundation also has its own ambulance and driver, who is available on the premises 24x7.
